This exceptionally hot chilli, belonging to the capsicum chinense, is also known as Bih Jolokia originating in Assam in North East India. One of the the hottest chillies in the World as verified by the Guinness Book of Records in 2006. It has an official Scoville heat rating (SHR) of  1,001,304, twice as much as the Red Savina the previous record holder. Scoville Heat unit is the amount of water needed before the chilli heat is undetectable. One drop of Bhut Jolokia extract needs a million drops of water. Requires a minimum of 80 - 89°F to germinate and the flowers will benefit from hand pollination with a fine brush. A chilli for the real Connoisseur.
