I was very pleased with the leeks considering it was only the third week of May. Grown on a bench in Link-a-Bord there was hardly any bulbous bottom to them. |
An excellent dish of my favourite Second Early potato - Kestrel. Grown on concrete floor in a cold greenhouse in 45 gallon plastic drums cut in half and filled with Multi Purpose compost, five tubers in each half drum. |

Close up of the centre section of the display. My Own re selected seed of Own Long Black Beetroot, Item 3017, looked particularly well. |
Who said flowers were more colourful then vegetables - I beg to differ as this picture shows. The white potato Winston (in the barrow) were the best I have ever staged at Chelsea. |
The display with the top shelve completed, apart from labelling. On the trolley there are over 100 pots of parsley used for garnishing many of the dishes. The cauliflowers are covered over to keep the curds as white as possible until judging time. |
