The large Kelsae onion in the Front centre was grown during the 2000 season, (Item 3114) harvested at the end of July and exhibited that Summer. It was afterwards kept in a cold store right through to the third week in May. It had been out of the ground 10 months! who says big onions don't keep


These Blue Jay peppers attracted a lot of attention, many visitors at that time had never seen a lilac sweet pepper.


The stand completed right up to about 8pm Saturday night and the Cauliflowers, Leeks and Celery were covered over to maintain freshnes.All day Sunday left to complete the display.

Sweet Corn Lark,(Item 3139) is a very sweet variety and I managed to get 2 cobs from each plant when they grew in a 7 inch pot on a bench in nothing more than Multipurpose compost which was fed on a weekly basis.


The Yellow carrot on a pedestal - on the R/H side of the display were introduced for the first time as 'the first ever yellow F1 hybrid carrot'. After Wednesday I nearly changed the label to 'the Firts ever green carrot', it had changed it's colour that much.
