RHS TATTON PARK FLOWER SHOW

We managed to do the business once again at this show winning another Gold as well as the reserve Best Exhibit in the Show. The New Parsnips were brilliant and when we removed them from the box they had retained their lovely white colour. When I showed them to Roy Tudor who is acknowledged as possibly one of the top NVS judges, he immediately said ‘give it the Welsh name ‘Gwyneira’ – translated this means ‘White as snow’ย  However it’s very unlikely to happen as the breeder is in the process of registering the name.

Well done Medwyn. Stand looks fantastic ๐Ÿ™‚

What does ‘reserve’ best in show actually mean Medwyn? Is that just in case the winners fail a late drugs test?

Stand looks fantastic as always. Very interested in those new parsnips. Dave Thornton said they looked superb so they must have been good to extract praise from his lips! ‘Snowdon’ would be a good name!

  3. Medwyn says:

Very happy that David Thornton has given his stamp of approval to the parsnips, it really seems to be a good one. Regarding the name, it can’t be Snowdon as it’s already the name of a leek in my Catalogue bred by Dr Peter Dawson. Trust the veggies are growing well and your keeping up with all the watering. Hoping to have three for the Welsh and Three for the National from the thirteen thatโ€™s left. However there will be over six weeks since I pulled for Tatton so they could be big and rough or they might be the best ever, who knows.

    5 for the National Medwyn!

See you at Wrexham Medwyn ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Medwyn says:

Look forward to meeting up with you once again. I have entered three parsnips and three long carrots, however I’m not over optimistic as they were timed for the Tatton Show so they are now getting on for 6 weeks older. Time will tell Marcus!

  9. Marcus says:

I’m hoping to put a collection up Medwyn and some other classes too. Really looking forward to it, never done the Welsh Champs before.
